The old manor photo

First, I have taken 3 photos, exactly the same except for the exposure.
The photos must be exactly the same, (each pixel of the 3 photos must be at the same place).
So, use a tripod and to avoid any mouvement when pressing the release button, use the countdown function of your camera.
Now, you have to take 3 or more photos, with different exposure. My camera has an "auto-bracketing" function that do this perfectly. I obtain 3 photos : one normal, one under-exposed and one over-exposed.
Now, you have to use a shareware named "Photomatix" to transform the 3 photos into an HDR file (High definition range). Here is a link where you can find this program :
Run Photomatix, open your 3 photos. Go to the HDR menu and click on "Generate HDR". the program will combine the 3 photos into one.
Now select again the menu HDR and click on "Tone mapping". You can adjust some settings to your likings.
Select 24 bits to save it as a new jpg image, or 48 bits to save it as a tiff image.
Voilą !

Incredible colors! Thanks for being generous enough to explain your method. Again, great picture.

My comment is for the picture, I looked and couldn't tell where else I could add it.

This is a great picture and I'll be using it as a halloween picture of the house on a burning hill and maybe some bats flying by.

Thanks again for sharing it.
