Newbie Tutorial

posted by debsch, Jan 8, 2007 6:00 PM — 9 comments

Not so much a tutorial as a demonstration for NEWBIES of what can be done to ordinary photos after they've been taken to improve them. It's what I always do before uploading an image to SXC, and I like to think that it gives them a better chance of being approved.

A friend of mine took some photos while on holiday and I had a play with them in Fireworks (not quite photoshop).

All I did was a bit of cropping, rotating, and adjusted the levels and curves. I learnt a lot from the tutorial link posted by thesaint here.

Anyway, the results WERE on a webpage but it's not threre anymore - sorry!
But you can still see what I mean by looking at the great before/after example I found on SXC

Hi there -- I am a BRAND NEW Newbie and I was sort of hoping that this "Newbie Tutorial" would have covered something about how to get around the 60 image limit that they have imposed on the lightboxes. I created a second lightbox, but when I go to add another picture to my lightbox, it says "Sorry, Lightbox Full" Maybe there is somebody out there that can help me!! Sorry that this comment doesen't exactly match the topic of the rest of your blog!

Thanks so much,
And Super Special Thanks Go Out to ANYBODY that can help solve my problem!!

Have a great day!!
