Originally almshouses, Holy Jesus Hospital is one of only two surviving 17th century brick buildings in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is owned by Newcastle City Council, but is leased to The National Trust as the base for its Inner City Project. | | I uploaded a different version of this photo in 2006, but I've taken on board some of your feedback and cropped the image to better emphasise the arches and the sense of perspective.
