Photo details
»  Victory Monument - Bangkok
The Victory Monument was built in the reign of the present king, HM King Bhumibol Adulyadei to commemorate soldiers, policemen and civilians who gave their lives in the service of the country. The monument is built of reinforced concrete and marble in the shape of five bayonets 50 metres high. Around the base of the bayonets are statues representing the army, navy, air-force, police and civilian services. Under the statues are bronze plates engraved with the names of people who died during the Franco-Thai dispute in 1943.
