Torre Latinoamericana. Located at Eje Central Lazaro Cardenas and Madero st. intersection, Mexico City. Built in 1956, was the tallest building in Mexico until 1984, when the Torre PEMEX was built. It's 182 m high (597 ft) and has a very effective pilot system that has avoid it to fall down during the last 2 biggest earthquakes in Mexico City: 1957 and 1985, both destroyed many other lower buildings. This is the eagle found in mexican national sign. This image means the foundational story of Mexico, which is based on a ancient aztec legend which tells where the aztecs should build their new settlement, and the story says that when they find an eagle eating a snake, stand on a cactus, it will be the place to build their city. They found such sign in a small island in the middle of a lake, and it became the great city of Mexico-Tenochtitlan, which today is located under the Zocalo area, in actual Mexico City.
