DESCRIPTION

Shrub or small Tree, 2-10m tall, branches usually spiny. Leaves wedge shaped, deeply 3-7 lobed. Flowers white or sometimes pinkish, 8-15mm, styles generally 1. Berry red with a mealy exterior, 8-10mm, oval in outline, containing a single Stone fruit. Habitat: Woodland, Shrub, Hedgerows, rough grassy Places, Heaths and Moors, Lowland and Upland. Flowering Season: May-June. Distribution: Throughout Europe, except the extreme North. In the first Week of May Hawthorn is beautiful blooming in Nature & Gardens.
