The statue of The Lexington Minuteman depicts Captain John Parker. It was unveiled on the 125th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington. Sculpted by Boston artist Henry Kitson, the statue was made possible by a Francis B. Hayes bequest of $10,000. Captain John Parker (July 13, 1729 – September 17, 1775) was an American colonial farmer, mechanic and soldier who commanded the Lexington militia at the Battle of Lexington on April 19, 1775.
