I took this photo at about 5am one morning while visting Taipei in Taiwan. The presence of the small figure in the middle of the square (a mate of mine from back home in Australia) reveals somewhat the enormity of the National Concert Hall in the stock photos. I really like this photo because I have been to this popular Taipei landmark plenty of times before and there are always heaps of people all over the square - so to get the whole thing to ourselves and then capture it on camera was really rewarding for me. The district of Ximending (Hsimenting) (西門町) in Taipei is bustling at night. And this scene, shot at the night market shows a stall selling meat/seafood on sticks which are cooked "fondue" style on broth. This style of food is popular is Asia. Interpreted in various names such as Lok Lok in Malaysia and Singapore food lok lok Taipei Street Food
