Description:

Sister Vivian Bullwinkel and sixty five Australian nurses were sunk aboard the HMAS vyner brook evacuating Singapore 1944. The ships lifeboats were straffed by Japanese planes. Twenty one nurses swam ashore to a nearby Island, These were captured by Japanese and fired on with machine guns. Vivian was the only survivor of the Bangka Massacre.

Death Grip — This was some stupid propaganda poster against Prussia or something from over a 100 years ago. Still, the imagery was vivid, and I thought it deserved a new life to be shared for any sort of use. Maybe symbolic of political oppression or however else you want to use it

Propaganda Monster — I saw this most amazing symbolization of a propaganda machine, and I knew I had to synthesize it for here. Originally it was too detailed and I couldn't get the file size small enough. I removed some details and this is what we ended up. The original art was interestingly enough an old (public domain) editorial about how there was a conspiracy about how America was trying to introduce birth control to the Japanese as a way to weaken the country and then eventually take it over. Fascinating. I wanted this to work for any concept though, so I removed any references to birth control

War Kills — This was propaganda for the red cross during world war one, and I thought it was beautiful but after I removed the advertisement there was a gap in the image so I added the text "war kills" which is propaganda itself I guess, but none the less you can change that too of course

Heroes Get The Kisses — This was originally world war I propaganda. Titled something like "Heroes in Brass Buttons Get The Kisses of The Misses" or something like that. Some scandalous early 20th century kissing for all of you. Might even work for valentines day or what not

Power to the People — I was watching those live streams of the "Occupy Wallstreet" protests in the USA, and I was moved by their passion. Somehow that influenced this "poster" about the power of people. Power to the people! :)
